Dec 9, 2020 · Just wanted to make everyone aware, if they aren't already, that M*CARBO has issued a recall for their extra power recoil spring and stainless steel guide rods for Hi Point carbines. Apparently Hi Point has been seeing broken breech bolts, likely due to the stainless guide rod and potentially the recoil spring as well. Unfortunate to hear. I like the stock on the new Ruger 5.7 carbine and was thinking how cool a 9mm carbine with mag through the grip and a folding stock would be. Then it hit me that the Hi Point is pretty close to that.
